Account / Billing Questions:
Q. | Can I change my pricing plan?
A. | Certainly. Login to your account and click on the BILLING tab at the top of the page. You can change your service level yourself, in real time. Plan upgrades go into effect immediately. (So if you've sent, or are planning to send, a large number of Confimax messages you will immediately benefit from the reduced rate.) Plan downgrades will go into effect at the beginning of your next annual billing period. If you are upgrading your plan, you will be credited for the appropriate portion of unused service remaining on your old plan.
Q. | When am I billed? | |
A. | You are first billed for Confimax the day you signup for the service. Then, on the same date of subsequent years you are billed the annual fee for your plan.
Q. | Can I share my Confimax account with others?
A. | Depending on your level of service, you may be able to send Confimax messages from multiple email addresses. (The Professional plan allows messages to be sent from up to 10 email addresses, the Basic plan, 5, the Free plan, 3) Use the PREFERENCES tab to specify which email addresses are allowed to send Confimax message. These addresses can be your own, or you can add addresses of your friends, colleagues or family. Be aware, however, that each Confimax account can have only a single username and password, and that all messages sent through the account use the same preferences and are added to the same message log. If you are a business or organization that wants to provide Confimax to a number of users, contact sale@confimax.com to inquire about our affordable site license module.
Q. | How do I cancel my account?
A. | You may cancel your account by logging into your account, clicking on the ACCOUNT tab, and choosing "Cancel Account."
Confimax Basics: | ||
Q. | How do I send a Confimax message?
A. | If you use a standard mail program, go to http://www.confimax.com/downloads.php to install a Confimax button next to the Send button in your mail client. Then, when you'd like to confirm the delivery of a message, click Confimax when you would normally click Send. If you do not use one of these programs, you can still use Confimax-- you simply need to change the format of the recipients address. This can be done in any mail client. For instance, if you want to send a Confimax message to joe@hotmail.com you would instead send it to: joe=hotmail.com@confimax.com The simple rule is to use the "=" sign when you'd normally use "@", then at the end of the address, put "@confimax.com" This process ensure that the appropriate confirmation code is embedded in your message. |
|
Q. | How can I change my settings?
A. | A wide variety of preferences and settings can be changed by logging in to your account at confimax.com. Enter the username and password you selected at signup and click "Login." If you've forgotten your username and/or password, you will be prompted to enter your email address, and the system will generate a new password for you.
Q. | Can I tell if my Confimax messages are read more than once?
A. | Users on the Professional Plan have access to a feature called "Message Details." With this feature, you can review every date and time, and from which IP addresses, every and particular message is read.
Q. | How can I send all my messages Confimax?
A. | Soon, you'll be able to use the Confimax outgoing mail server (mail.confimax.com) to send all your messages Confimax, by default. Alternatively, you may install a Confimax button next to the Send button in your email program. Go to http://www.confimax.com/downloads.php to download plug-ins for common email software.
Q. | Can Confimax be integrated into my mail client?
A. | We have developed plug-ins for the most popular email products, enabling you to have a Confimax button right next to your standard Send button! To see if a plug-in is available for your software, go to http://www.confimax.com/downloads.php.
Q. | What versions of Microsoft Outlook can I use the plugin with?
A. | The Confimax plugin supports Outlook 2000 and newer. For Outlook 2000, the Confimax plugin allows you to include the Confimax button if you are checking one email account through Outlook, while newer versions can check an unlimited number of email accounts.
Q. | I don't see my plug-in listed on the download page. Will you develop one? Can I still use Confimax?
A. | We are constantly working to expand our menu of plug-ins to accommodate additional email programs. In the near future, we expect to have plug-ins available for Netscape, Eudora, AOL, and WordMail users, as well as Macintosh versions of our existing plug-ins. In the meantime, you can still use the address translation method described above to send Confimax messages from your current mail client.
Q. | How reliable is Confimax? Is the delivery of all Confimax messages confirmed?
A. | Confimax confirms the delivery of any messages read using a standard html-compliant mail client, such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, AOL, and most web-based email systems. The only instances in which a Confimax message may not be confirmed is when the recipient is using a non-html compliant mail reader, such as PINE, or if the recipient chooses to read their messages offline (since there would then exist no way to send the confirmation signal) In these cases, the recipient will still be able to read the content of the message, but no confirmation will be sent to the sender.
Q. | How secure are my messages send through Confimax?
A. | Confimax.com does not store the contents of any messages. Your messages are as secure as if they were sent thought standard email.
Q. | Can Confimax handle attachments?
A. | Yes. Attachments are unaffected and may easily be included with any Confimax message.
Q. | What does the recipient have to do to confirm message delivery?
A. | Unlike other return-receipt and certified email programs, the recipient has to take no action to confirm the message delivery. A confirmation signal is sent automatically when the message is read.
Q. | How do I change the Confimax logo that appears on the bottom of my messages?
A. | If you are on the professional plan, you may substitute the standard confimax.com delivery logo with your own custom image, or you can opt to use the service in "stealth mode" by using an invisible graphic. To change these settings, log-in to confimax.com and click on the Personal Preferences button. The option for changing delivery graphics can be found at the bottom of this page.
Confimax Plugin: | ||
Q. | I've installed the plugin, but the Confimax button does not appear in Outlook. What is wrong?
A. |
If you've installed the Confimax plugin, but no Confimax button shows up, there are a few common reasons. First, make sure that you downloaded and installed the right plug-in. The Outlook Express plug-in will not work for Outlook, and vice versa. Next, check to see that your Outlook version is not outdated. The plug-in supports Outlook 2000 and later versions. If you are using an older version, you will have to either upgrade your Outlook software, or manually enter the appropriate email address. If you are using Microsoft Word as your email editor, the Confimax button will not appear. To use Outlook as your editor, open Outlook. In the "Tools" menu, select "Options". Next, click the "Mail Format" tab. In the top section, "Message Format", uncheck the box named "Use Microsoft Word as your email editor". Then, close Outlook and restart your computer. |
|
Q. | I've gone through and made sure that Outlook is not using Microsoft Word as my email editor, but the Confimax button still doesn't appear. Now what?
A. |
Check to see what version of Outlook you are running. If you are running Outlook 2000, the plugin will support it, but in a slightly limited fashion. It will allow you to check one email account while still including the Confimax button. However, if you are using Outlook to check multiple email accounts, the plugin will no longer be active and cannot be used. You have two options: You can either choose to upgrade your Outlook software to a newer version, or you can manually do the Confimax address conversion. You can find instructions on how to do this in the Confimax Basics section |
|
Q. | I'm still having problems with the plugin.
A. | If you did not find any answers to your problems, please contact us using the form in the Support section. Be sure to include a detailed description of your problem, as well as what operating system and email software you are using. |
